This is payable when you leave the printer. There may be some instances where due to the nature of the fault it is uneconomical to repair the printer, if this is the case then £10 would be refundable. An express while you wait service is offered for an extra £5. Desktop repair service Minor software or configuration issues Computers with minor software issues are likely to be covered by the minimum workshop charge of £55 Major software issues Where computers have major software problems such as windows corruption, viruses, spyware or performance issues then the labour cost of the repair will be £70 Under exceptional circumstances the labour cost may exceed £70 and in these cases authorisation will be sought before proceeding with the repair. These costs exclude data transfer. If this is required an additional charge of £25 is payable. (To ensure the smooth operation of your PC you are advised to install as a minimum an antivirus package but ideally a full internet securioty package. Hardware faults When a hardware fault is suspected the minimum workshop charge of £55 would be payable when the computer is booked in. Once the fault is known you will be given a quotation for the cost of the repair including parts and labour. Laptop repair service We will carry out some laptop repairs at our service centre in Richardshaw Lane and other repairs will be sent to a laptop specialist. Most hardware faults involving labour and the supply of small parts are charged at £150. If major parts are required a quotation would be given . If you decide not to proceed with the repair then only the workshop charge of £55 would be chargeable. Where a software fault is suspected the repair would be dealt with in the same way as a desktop computer. Health check An annual health check will help to ensure that your computer continures to operate smoothly. Our health checks include. - Removal of unnecessary files that might have an affect on performance. - Advice on methods of improving performance - Advice on organising files and backing them up - Removal of any viruses or spyware - Windows update - Free installation of any upgrades or antivirus software bought from us. If a hardware fault is encountered or if is is found that the machine requires reconfiguration due to major software errors then a seperate quotation will be provided. Price £55 Computer upgrades Memory install Install memory which has been bought from us in a desktop or laptop computer and test £10 We do not install memory provided by others. Install part or upgrade Install any part(s) purchased from us £20 Install any part(s) bought form others £25 System build from parts supplied £ 70 The reason the parts are being fitted must be determined and if this is because there is a fault with the computer then it will be treated in the same way as a repair and the minimum workshop charge of £55 would be payable. PC repairs general terms and conditions 1. For all desktop or laptop repairs a deposit of £55 is payable when the computer is booked in. This is the minimum workshop charge and covers for the first hours labour. This fee is not refundable. 2. Before leaving a computer with us all data should be backed up. We cannot be held responsible for loss of data. 3. During a reconfiguration the hard drive is wiped clean and all programs, data, internet settings amd emails are removed. It is essential that before having this work carried out that you check that you have the installation cds and licences to install any software that you have on the computer and that you have backups of your data. 4. 28 Days techincal support is given on any computer repair provided the computer is adequatly protected by internet security software. 5. In cases where our technicians have inspected a computer and have been unable to find a fault the minimum workshop chrage of £55 would apply. 6. We do not carry out repairs on Windows 98 or ME computers. 7. Any computer that is not collected after three months will be disposed of.
